Observer notes
I thought the AI would quickly ID this as beaver damage, as it has with similar toothmarks on tree trunks, but it didn’t. But that’s what it is, isn’t it? Is there perhaps some insect damage, too? It suggested several species of insect, including Emerald Ash Borer for the fourth photo.
